I write to sell.

I write to simplify, explain, clarify, persuade, convince, suggest, argue, defend or encourage.

I learned to be a copywriter by joining Hall Advertising in Edinburgh in 1981.

I learned to be a better copywriter (and subsequently a Creative Director as well) by spending the next 18 years at top London advertising agencies.

In 2001 I set up in freelance practice.

Writing one-to-one for people with businesses to run and problems to solve.

Since then I’ve written for over 600 business clients.

Large. Small. Successful. And struggling, too.

I’ve written about just about everything there is to write about.

There is always something new to discover every day.

A new angle.

A new story to tell, or a different way to tell an old one.

I am a copywriter.
